When the Lord wants to speak to His people, He will speak in a language and use parables that they are familiar with and understand. For instance, when Jesus spoke to Israel, most of His parables dealt with plants, farming, fishing, and animals, because they are an agricultural society. In our generation, God speaks in symbols we know, such as cars, planes, trains, etc. Obviously, during Biblical times, they didn’t have the modes of transportation that we have today, so when God spoke to them He was using terms like horses, chariots, and mules, as vehicles of transportation and war.
